Simple and Easy Chocolate Chip Cookies

Happy Friday! I can’t think of anything in the world that wouldn’t make the start of your weekend {sweeter} than a great recipe for chocolate chip cookies!

I have always had a sweet tooth for as long as I can remember, and I have major love for baking, so it only makes sense that I share this super easy four ingredient baking recipe with you.

Before I go any further, I do have to give credit where credit is due, and mention that this is not my recipe by any means. I actually found it when I was 13 years old in an old cookbook my mom had that was a compilation of recipes from ladies that lived in her hometown…sweet, right?! (Okay, my puns aren’t all that funny, but there’s no need to get a {chip} on your shoulder over it….but really I’ll stop now.)

Now that I’ve come clean that I didn’t actually create this recipe, I have to admit one more thing… although I love to bake, I’m not the type of baker who can just throw ingredients together and create something magical. Sadly, I always have to follow some sort of instructions for the most part.

Okay, moving onto the good, warm, chocolatey delicious stuff…..

Ingredients:

  • 1 Box Yellow Cake Mix
  • 2 Eggs
  • ¼ Cup Oil (This is what the recipe calls for, but I usually tweak it a bit and use a tad under that amount.)
  • Chocolate Chips (I like to use the Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate Chips. Since they are larger I use 1-2 in each cookie and it’s the perfect amount of chocolate for me, but feel free to use whatever brand and size you want!)
  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Combine the cake mix, eggs, and oil in a bowl and stir until all ingredients are mixed well together. The consistency will be fairly thick so mixing with your hands will help.
  3. Add chocolate chips.
  4. Spray baking sheet with Pam and place a spoonful of dough on the pan.
  5. Bake for 8 – 10 minutes. (I usually bake them closer to 8 minutes because I like my cookies really soft and a little gooey.)
  6. ENJOY!

This recipe is great with your girls and a glass of wine, it will impress your boss at the office during the holidays, or it can become part of your family’s tradition on Friday nights! Due to the simple ingredients, quickness, and amazing taste of these cookies I think this recipe is a total win!
