13 Tasks You Should Conquer In 2019 To Be A Better You

It’s a new year, and instead of making a list of resolutions I know I am never going to keep, I decided to share my top 13 tasks for 2019 with you. Some of these might sound rather silly, but I have a reason for doing them. The truth is that doing the small things every day, even when we don’t want to, will create positive habits. If you can master the small things at the highest level possible, then why can’t you master the big things in life at an even higher level?!

The trick is we have to start small then move forward to achieving our big goals. We have to have the right mindset or else the high we feel from the new year will eventually rub off and that’s when we end up losing sight of our goals. It’s all about discipline.

So, who’s with me?! Let’s get it fam!

  1. Make my bed every day. It has to be nicely made and not just thrown together for the sake of saying I did it.

  2. Keep my car clean which will require a good cleaning once a week. (I have such a bad habit of leaving clothes & shoes in my car and “because I’m a girl” is not a good excuse anymore.)

  3. Finish an entire load of laundry all at once - wash, dry, fold, and put away instead of leaving it on the couch for JR to finish. (Anyone else truly hate doing laundry or is it just me?!)

  4. Start the day with Jesus. This can be done by reading a daily devotional, scripture, or listening to a Christian radio station as I’m getting ready for work.

  5. Tell myself three compliments at the beginning of each day and believe them. (I might even write these on the bathroom mirror so I see them bright and early.)

  6. Buy groceries on Saturday, instead of Sunday, so you can beat the crowd and have time to meal prep and won’t feel rushed.

  7. Actually get out of bed when my alarm goes off. Simple, but oh so hard to do!

  8. Be active every single day. - spin class, lifting weights, walk in the park - just have to move.

  9. Crush the goals set on your apple watch every day aka calorie goal, exercise goal, and stand goal.

  10. Drink 100 oz of water, and be prepared to go to the bathroom every .25 seconds.

  11. Moisturize. Moisturize. Moisturize.

  12. Be five minutes early for everything - work, church, family and friend gatherings, everything. (This will probably be the hardest one for me.)

  13. Floss my teeth every other day and not only the week before I see the dentist. (I know I’m not the only one who does this.)

Some of you might turn your nose up at these and act like they won’t be hard to accomplish, but I promise you it will be hard for me to make every single one of these into a habit, especially when life gets busy and we’re gone on the weekend. Remember, the entire purpose of creating these small tasks is to create healthy habits which will in turn to teach us discipline. Without mastering the small things, you and I will never be able to be as successful as we really want to be in life. So, what new habits do you want to create? Leave a comment below if you are planning to follow the above guidelines. If not, let me know what you would add to this list!

Have a blessed year, sista friend!
